Application purpose

What Jarvis Home Project does.

Jarvis Home Project is a private, self-hosted application for its owner. It uses Google OAuth to connect the owner's Google Nest devices to Home Assistant, then makes a strictly approved, read-only subset of thermostat and device-status data available inside Jarvis for household awareness.

The application does not provide public access to the home, expose camera media, or give Jarvis control over Google Nest devices. This website explains the project and its data practices; it contains no live household information.

Operating principles

Useful awareness without careless access.

01

Private by default

Household data stays inside the trusted home environment.

02

Read before acting

Awareness is separated from control, with explicit permissions at every boundary.

03

Built to be understood

Architecture, decisions, and limits are documented as the system grows.

Project direction

Start with awareness.
Grow through trust.

The project develops in deliberate layers—from reliable observation and privacy boundaries to richer household context and carefully governed assistance.
